✔️Shift to bristle toothbrush which can remove plaque more efficiently than silicone toothbrushes. Make sure bristles are soft and toothbrush head is small enough to fit baby’s tiny mouth.
✔️ Use toothpaste with at most 1000 PPM of fluoride for children 0-2 years old. Fluoride plays a very important role in strengthening the teeth as soon as it appears in the mouth thus preventing cavities.
✔️Use a smear-size or rice grain-size amount of fluoride toothpaste for children 2years old and below. This tiny amount of fluoride toothpaste is safe if swallowed and will not cause fluoride toxicity.
✔️Make sure to bring your baby to a pediatric dentist by age 1 or within 6 months of the 1st tooth coming in. The reason behind this is for intial dental screening and to educate parents/caregivers on how to properly take care of their child’s teeth, information on baby bottle cavities, finger-sucking habits etc.
